The WEC has added a bantamweight bout between contender Scott Jorgensen and Chad George to the preliminary portion of its WEC 47 event on March 6 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
Jorgensen (8-3) is currently on a two-fight winning streak, which includes wins over Noah Thomas and most recently Takeya Mizugaki at WEC 45 last month in a bout that earned both men “Fight of the Night.”
Jorgensen has put together a 4-2 record during his time with the WEC, scoring other wins over Kenji Osawa and Frank Gomez. He is also a veteran of the Colorado-based Ring of Fire organization as well as the Alaska Fighting Championship. Jorgensen holds other notable career wins over the likes of Chris David and Tyler Toner.
George (11-4) has won his last six bouts, most recently defeating John Hosman in his WEC debut, which also took place at December’s WEC 45 event. He has not tasted defeat since November 2007, where he was defeated by Matt Troyer.
George has competed for other notable promtions during his five-year career such as; Total Combat, Total Fighting Alliance, Bodog Fight, HOOKnSHOOT, and Call To Arms. He has finished nine of his 11 career wins, including six coming by submission.
