Return of the Training Blog: Post Japan 1st Entry!

30 10 2009

It has been almost 2 weeks since my last entry. Wow this almost sounds like a confession! Ha…

First Thank you everyone who followed my Training Blog from Japan. The numbers of readers where unbelievable. Now to the blog!
Training has been rough since coming back to the states. I had almost a week of brutal jet lag to overcome before getting re-acclimated the time zone. But lucky me, my trainers didn’t care 1 bit. We have been pushing as if I never left. Being back with my team is an amazing comfort and confidence booster. We train hard, and we train to outwork our opponent in the gym. I am also fortunate to have all of my main training and sparring partners getting ready for fights around or the same time as me. The team is all in fight mode. Usually when prepping for a fight everyone is in and out, or have other things popping up. Not this time. Everyone is on the grind! Monster are being bred in the PKG Factory.
Each day passing is one day closer the fight and I can feel my excitement grow. We are 16 days out and I cant wait. Usually this is about the time my nerves kick in. But not this time. This time my nerves are of anxiousness to show what I can do.

I am back. And will be updating

the blogs as we get closer and closer! Its almost time for WAR!

Anthony Johnson Vs. Josh Koscheck for UFC 106?

28 10 2009

anthony-johnson-3

So Josh Koscheck posted on twitter that he was going to appear on the card for UFC 106 this past Tuesday.  Lesner has been announced off the card because of a flu he can’t shake (we were told Swine Flu).  Even though it hasn’t been announced yet, we were told that Anthony Johnson is going to be named as Koscheck’s opponent and that it’s going to be the co-main event, now that the Tito Ortiz fight has been promoted to the main event.

Johnson had a great showing this past weekend at UFC 104 with a knockout victory over Yoshiyuki Yoshida.  Sadly, he didn’t make weight, so the victory was bittersweet.  He was not eligible for his knock out of the night bonus.  The fight agains Koscheck would be a great opportunity to solidify himself as a solid force in the UFC.

Koscheck also desparately needs to win as his last four fights have resulted in a 2-2 split.  A win would put him back on track as a fighter on the move.

Stay tuned for more info.

Newly signed to UFC, Rodney Wallace to fight on Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale

19 10 2009

Freshly signed to a four fight UFC contract, it’s been confirmed that Rodney Wallace will make his UFC debut this December at the Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale.  Rodney (9-0-0) will be facing off against Brian Stann (7-2-0) who is 1-1-0 in the UFC.

Stann put together a 5-1 record in the WEC, including a brief run as the light heavyweight champion, before transitioning to the UFC.

A two-time M-1 Challenge veteran, Wallace fought most recently in September. The light-heavyweight fought three times that night, earning an eight-man tournament title for Vendetta Fighting Chamionship.

Six of Wallace’s nine career wins have come by decision.  Win lose or draw, Wallace brings intensity to the cage and we expect big things out of him.  This is a fight you don’t want to miss.
